VIsound is an independent national registered charity, that offers practical help to community groups and charities, across the UK, to provide information in audio for visually-impaired people. VIsound also produces and distributes information in audio direct to blind and partially-sighted people.

VIsound stands for "Visual Impairment Sound" and, through the medium of audio, which is such a universal and accessible format, we aim to support visually-impaired people in their daily lives by increasing awareness, equalising opportunity, broadening choice, enabling independence and breaking down isolation.

Our services are freely available to anyone who is blind or partially-sighted, whether registered or not, and for anyone else for whom the printed word is not an option.

VIsound is housed and supported by an audio production company which shares its technical resources to minimise the charity´s running costs.  The charity is staffed entirely by volunteers.

VIsound fundraises independently and, benefiting from its exceptionally low overheads, can use virtually all of its resources to deliver services for the benefit of blind and partially-sighted people.

Amongst its services, VIsound:produces its own local talking magazine, called Deans Talk.
